Mordialloc Creek - Piling

What we'll do and when

From Friday 5 February for up to 4 weeks, we’ll use a large machine called a piling rig to hammer 24 piles for the bridge abutment south of Mordialloc Creek.

We’ll carry out most of these works during the day, Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 3.30pm. We’ll let you know in advance of any work outside of these hours.

During this time, we’ll continue building the columns for the twin bridges over the Waterways wetlands and the embankment near Mordialloc Creek, where we’ll carry out more piling works for the southern bridge abutment later this year.

What you can expect

A piling rig and crane will work near the bridge abutment at Mordialloc Creek.

These works will create noise and some vibration. Depending on your proximity to the work, you may hear periods of banging while the piles are being installed. We’ll do our best to keep these impacts to a minimum and will regularly monitor noise and vibration levels during the works.

There may be minor traffic delays while we bring machinery to the site. We’ll keep you informed of changes to traffic conditions through road signs and traffic controllers to help guide you through the area.
