What we’ll do and when
As part of our work to build the freeway, we’re building a bridge over Old Dandenong Road. We’ve made good progress to build the bridge abutments on each side of Old Dandenong Road, and as part of these works we’ll soon be lifting beams into place.
We’ll be closing Old Dandenong Road between Boundary and Tootal roads from 7am Thursday 5 November to 6pm Monday 23 November 2020.
During this time, we’ll lift large beams into place for the new freeway bridge that passes over the road. We’ll also build the new road surface, drainage and kerbs on Old Dandenong Road, as well as start work to build the new shared use path through the area.
Detours will be in place via Centre Dandenong Road or Dingley Bypass. Please allow up to an extra 10 minutes when planning your journey.
What you can expect
You may experience some noise and vibration and be able to see machinery from time to time. We’ll do our best to keep our construction impacts to a minimum.
Access for residents, local businesses and emergency services will be maintained. Please check your route as there may be a detour involved. There will be road signs in place and traffic controllers to safely guide you around the work area.
We’ll keep you informed of changes to traffic conditions through road signs and traffic controllers. For more information, visit Victoria's Big Build.
